Meanwhile, Michael's rock garden alongside our western boundary is beginning to fill in.
"A planted place" is how American garden designer Louise Beebe Wilder (1878-1938) defined a garden. I think it is the best and most concise description I've come across. This blog is focused on my own small garden in Vancouver, Canada, but the title allows me to include other gardens and plants from time to time if I find them interesting.

Lemon tree very pretty
When Sarah Jane left for overseas, we inherited her potted lemon tree, a rather spindly specimen as her courtyard is very shady. Up against the warm north wall of our house, it has done well enough to produce a crop of about six lemons this year. Not bad for such a challenged little tree.

Very pretty indeed!!! What a difference a year of sun makes - I really can't believe it's the same tree. Last year it feebly produced one absolutely tiny discoloured lemon (the size of a pea). Great to see it thriving under your expert care!
The rock garden looks good too!
